Spectacular Places That Will Turn Your Way To Ida Mountains

We live in an age where the urban population is increasing day by day. So much so that only 10% of Turkey's population lives in towns and villages, while the remaining percentage lives in districts and provincial centres. When we look at the statistics, people mostly experience mental problems in cities. While we want to admire all the beauties of nature and respect its order in the countryside, we are bored at every moment by the timelessness and upbringing of the city life.

The geography of the beautiful Kaz Mountains, covered with olive groves, red pine and even higher oak and larch forests, is the perfect escape for those who are overwhelmed by the city's troubles. In this article, we have compiled five magnificent places for you that will turn your way towards Kaz Mountains.

It is a resting area where the first beauty contest was held in Greek mythology and where ice-cold waters flow.

It is believed that the beauty pageant that Aphrodite, Hera and Athena participated in, even leading to the Trojan War, was held here. The fact that Paris gave a golden apple to the most beautiful of the three goddesses and that apple production was very intense in the Bayramiç district, which covers the region, confirms this legend.

Emine, who lives in the Yörük tribe on the peaks of the Kazdağları, persuades Hasan to live in her own tribe, but the young people of the tribe have a condition. Hasan will walk from the mountainside to the summit with a sack of salt behind him. Even though the fat boy who got tired of carrying the sack says he can't go yet, Emine insists but after a while she can't see Hasan behind her. Afterwards, Emine, who goes to look for Hasan, finds the manuscript and shirt she gave herself in the water and leaves herself in the cold waters of Kaz Mountains.

Zeus Altar

The Altar of Zeus, known as the house of Zeus, has a hand-carved altar before Christ, with a viewing terrace where you can see the entire bay.

In the Iliad, Homer mentions that the Gods lived on Mount Ida and that they watched and led the Trojan War from there. In the epic, it is mentioned that Zeus, the God of Gods, also lived here.
